The Los Angeles Lakers issued a statement on Thursday evening that point guard Steve Nash would miss the rest of the 2014/15 season due to complications with nerve damage in his back.
Nash, a two-time NBA MVP, has struggled with injuries the last few seasons and has yet to play extended time with the Lakers. In May, he gave an interview to For The Win in which he talked about the end of his career.
“It really is like a death,” he said. “You’re so passionate about it, you put so much energy and drive into it and then, all of a sudden, it’s just gone.”
