Steve Nash is not resting in his retirement.
The two-time NBA MVP joined an ownership group, Liga ACQ Legacy Partners, along with Suns owner Robert Sarver and others that recently acquired the Spanish professional soccer club RCD Mallorca.
Mallorca currently plays in the second division of La Liga. They were relegated last year after 16 years in the top flight of La Liga amid controversy and financial issues. Fans of the club will be delighted with a new ownership group that will hopefully provide some stability to the situation.
According to Marca, Nash will have a day-to-day role with the club, though it’s unclear exactly what that role will be.
Nash is a huge soccer fan and a good soccer player, and hosts an annual tournament that it is my life goal to play in one day. Seriously. This is a tournament that both Dirk Nowitzki and Landon Donovan play in. What better game could there be?
